Saw this lady’s fine handwork over on Folksy, her cards are incredibly good value considering the amount detail and work that has gone into each one. So go and check her stuff out for all your greeting card needs. xXx
Received my surprise swap from Trashy Princess today, so glad to have it before the Bank Holiday, was giddy like a school girl when I opened it all, but I was coherent enough to remember to take some pictures before I ripped the beautiful wrapping to shreds!
I opened the little drawstring bag first:
The vintage bingo tokens are awesome! Then I opened the purple parcel:
Some close up’s of the cute brooch and wooden creature (he’s called Mel btw):
Then I opened the last parcel, wrapped in yellow tissue paper:
The paper tag with the bird cage lady is my favorite, will have to think of something special to do with her!
Thanks Trashy for such an awesome swap! Let me know when you’re doing round 2! xXx
I’m lucky enough to have a sister that ‘gets’ me. After feeling low for a few days, post job rejections, she made me this;
I love Rabbits, but my allergies prevent me from having one, one of life’s great ironies. But she made me the next best thing, a handmade book of bunnies.
What could be more perfect for me? A book- I’m a huge bibliophile, Rabbits - I love them so much! Handmade - anything handmade is far better than shop bought for me; something created specifically for a person, with them in mind at every stage.
What could be more perfect? This gorgeous book of rabbits is the dose of love and cute that I needed. Thank you Sis, I love you more than you can imagine, and keep making me cute things! xXx
The results are in for the Stereohype 5th Annual badge competition, and I didn’t win, nor get an honorable mention. The results have also been collated (finally) for the Design a Mother’s Day Card Competition over at Cath Kidston, I didn’t win that one either.
I know you can’t win everything, but this is currently all I’m living for. Unemployed and ineligible for benefits, and ‘over-qualified’ for every job I apply to. So since I have a lot of time on my hands to work on my designs, for said competitions, I thought I might stand a chance at a runner up spot. Which now makes me question my worth as a graphic designer. Am I really good enough to compete?
Right, time to sort myself out, dust myself off, and get out of this interminable shame spiral before it consumes me. I’m staying optimistic, and I’m getting on with doing what I love, and sodding the rest. xXx
